During October, thousands of people across England are taking part in Stoptober – a 28 day challenge to stop smoking.
Stoptober is a new, exciting new campaign from NHS Smokefree, and it encourages people all across the country to stop smoking together on 1 October for 28 days (and beyond). Evidence shows that if a smoker can quit for 28 days they are five times more likely to stay smokefree.
The campaign is being promoted on TV, radio, online, and through press advertising and is being supported by leading employers, charity partners, local authorities and NHS organisations. The TV adverts can be viewed on the Smokefree YouTube channel.
By joining Stoptober, participants can get support throughout the 28 days with a Stoptober pack, an online/smartphone app, motivational text messages and the Smokefree Facebook page.
